Current Projects
Shuttle Service
Shuttle Service is a long term collaboration with musical artist Eugene Lew in association with Center for Ethnographic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. The project uses natural dyes, mordents, and modifiers to capture fleeting sound waves and the human voice using chladni plates as well as a voice activated dye bath .

The Quilt Code Variations
The Quilt Code Variations are a series of studies of a collection of traditional quilt blocks know as the quilt codes. It is said that these quilt blocks, including the log cabin, flying geese and the irish knot, where used in quilts hanging from clothes lines along the underground railroad to note instructions and directions .
In African American quilting traditions the log cabin quilt on a fence or clothes line symbolizes a safe house with vacancy on the underground railroad.
With this variation I’m interested in combining medicinal dyes with the Quilt Codes as a meditation on freedom, escape, and healing from the pervasiveness of historic trauma
